Pat BenatarPat Benatar was born in Brooklyn in 1953. You may remember this 4.5 octave 80’s superstar singing such songs as one of her greatest hits,
Love is a Battlefield. Starting out with amateur nights, her sexy voice rocked the 80’s and she still remains as one of the more noticeable icons of the decade.
StingSting was born on October 2nd, 1951. He was best known as being the frontman for The Police. They broke up in mid-80's, but Sting released a solo album just 1 year after that. He also got into acting during the 80's, appearing in movies such as
Dune,
Plenty, and
Stormy Monday.
Bonnie TylerBorn June 8, 1953, Bonnie Tyler first showed up in the late 70’s, but it was her 80’s hit
Total Eclipse of the Heart that put her on the map. She was nominated for a Grammy and performed at the Academy Awards, all because of that one beautiful song that made her famous.
Terry Fox Terry Fox was born on July 28th, 1958. He was diagnosed with bone cancer during the mid 70's. He lost his right leg when he was 18 and decided to do something about it. Fox decided to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research. He start on April 12th 1980 but had to end it at Thunder Bay, Ontario on September 1st being the cancer spread to his lungs. He died in 1981.
TiffanyTiffany is mostly known for her hit song
I Think We’re Alone Now, which was a smash with teens everywhere in the 80’s. Although not preferred by parents for it’s sexual intended lyrics, Tiffany held strong. She had several top 40 hits, and even got passed a legal emancipation issue with her mother in 1988. 80’s Tiffany is the Tiffany we love, her recent attempts include R&B and Country, but she will always be a Pop Girl.
Pierre TrudeauPierre Trudeau was born on October 18, 1919. He was Canada’s prime minister from 1968 to 1984. He was known around the world for creating ties with communist countries, getting Canada known as the World’s middle power, and stopping terrorism in Canada for good. He died in 2000 from prostate cancer.
Tina TurnerTina Turner was born on November 26, 1939. She has been in the music business for over 50 years, but made a huge splash in the 80’s with songs like

Private Dancer. Nicknamed “Queen of Rock and Roll”, her sultry, powerful voice, her incredible legs, her time-tested beauty and her unforgettable story all contribute to her legendary status.
Corey HaimCorey Haim was born on December 23, 1971. He was a teen idol in the 80's. He acted in various movies during that time, such as
The Lost Boys,
Licence to Drive,

A Time To Live, which won him the Exceptional Young Actor Starring in a Television Special or Movie of the Week Award.
Corey FeldmanCorey Feldman was born on July 16, 1971. He was also a teen idol in the 80's. He is good friends with Corey Haim and appeared in many movies in the past with him, such as
The Lost Boys,
Licence to Drive and
Dream a Little Dream. In the late 80's, Feldman stopped acting to deal with his drug problems. He eventually got over that and decided to take up singing.
Tracey GoldTracey Gold was born in New York on May 16, 1969. Her career began at age four when she tagged along with her dad to a soft drink commercial, and even though she did not audition, was noticed and got the part. Tracey is famous for her role as Carol Seaver on the hit 80’s sitcom
Growing Pains.
Kurt CobainKurt Cobain was born on February 20th, 1967. He was the lead singer of Nirvana. Cobain was the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter of the group. Nirvana wasn’t very popular yet in the ‘80s, only releasing the c.d, Bleach. Little did he know that Nirvana would soon take off. However, Cobain didn’t see too many years of fame, dying in April 1994. There has been controversy over the fact whether he killed himself or was murdered.
Audrey HepburnAudrey Hepburn was born on May 4th, 1929. Although she was very popular in the 50's and 60's, she continued acting throughout the 80's, starring in
They All Laughed,
Love Among Thieves, and
Always. In 1993, Hepburn died from colorectal cancer because she refused chemotherapy.
Leif GarrettLeif Garrett was born on November 8th, 1961. After doing quite a bit of acting when he was young, he got a record deal in the late 70's. He released a cd every year, from 1977 to 1981. When Garrett was 18, he paralyzed his best friend in an auto accident. After not staying true to his promise on taking care of his friend, the public started to turn. His popularity quickly plunged to the point where he was in the occasional movie or guest spot on a show, but that was it.
Cyndi LauperCyndi Lauper was born June 22nd, 1953. She was a pop sensation, known for her unique voice and her wild costumes. Her first cd was released in 1983, which included the hit song,
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. She won a Grammy for that song, making Lauper a household name. She also released cds in 1986 and 1989, but neither were as big of a hit as her first album.
Henry WinklerHenry Winkler was born October 30th, 1945. He was most famous for his role as Fonzie in
Happy Days. After his decade on Happy Days, he didn’t appear in many other shows or movies, besides
Heroes and
Night Shift, because he was focusing on directing. However, once the 90's came along, he was back on the big screen.
Dana PlatoDana Plato was born on November 7th 1964. She played Kimberly Drummond on the popular show,
Diff’rent Strokes. Plato was on that show until 1984, when she got pregnant and the producer let her going because he felt that it didn’t fit with Kimberly’s personality. She didn’t appear in many other movies or shows after that, only appearing in a few Playboy movies. Plato died of an overdose in 1999.
Bob GeldofBob Geldof was born in Ireland on October 5th, 1951. He was the lead singer of Boomtown Rats, and used that to his advantage. In 1984, he created Band Aid, a group of popular singers of that time, trying to fight the famine in Ethiopia. Geldof wrote the lyrics for
Do They Know it's Christmas Time. He also started Band Aid II and Live Aid in the 80's as well. He was often referred to as Saint Bob, because of all of his charity work.
Pamela Sue MartinPamela Sue Martin was born on January 5th, 1953. She was most popular playing Nancy Drew in
The Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Series in the late 70's. Martin really starting making a name for herself when she played Fallon Carrington in the soap opera,
Dynasty, from 1981-1984.
Molly RingwaldMolly Ringwald was born on February 18th, 1968. She was very popular among the teenage audience, starring in movies such as
Sixteen Candles,
The Breakfast Club, and
Pretty in Pink. Her acting career slowed down after the 80's, with her only appearing in straight-to-video and made-for-tv movies.
