Hello everyone, and welcome to the pre-game intro for the newest Online Reality Game this year: BIG BROTHER MIAMI. This spring, 12 strangers from around the world will be forced to get to know each other in the small time period of just three months. They will, of course, be trying to play the ultimate game of lies and deceit: Big Brother.
PART ONE – CONCEPT
The concept of the game is based on the concept of the hit reality series Big Brother. Though this game is based on the television series, it has been adapted to fit nicely on the virtual platform.
If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of the original Big Brother, they will be quickly explained in this introduction. Each week, there is a competition for Head of Household (HoH). This is a very special power in the Big Brother game. The HoH must choose two fellow players to nominate for eviction (to be voted out). The rest of the players in the game would then have to vote for the person they want out of the house.
To adapt this exciting game onto the virtual platform, the time span has been decreased, leaving the game with a schedule that won’t bore players. There have also been changes to some rules in the game, but those will be revealed once the players enter the house.
Since we cannot physically lock 12 people into a real house, the game is played over a message board and AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). The houseguests receive each other’s screen names, and are free to talk amongst each other as they please. There will be meetings held in a main AIM Chat. Also, the houseguests will be required to copy and paste any relevant conversations into their private diary rooms located on the message board. This will aid in the creation of episodes, which will be covered in the next topic.
PART TWO – EPISODES
Since houseguests will post all conversations relevant to the main plot of the game, there will be episodes written for each week. These will include confessionals from players, conversations between players, competitions, and much more! These will be released after the game has been completed, and will be released once a week.
PART THREE – ALIASES
With most Online Reality Games, some players know each other from previous games or just being around the community. In BIG BROTHER MIAMI, everyone will be required to enter the game as an alias, and will have a new AIM account created for them to use for the game.
PART FOUR – INTERACTIVITY
Once the game has been completed and episodes are being released, many new features will be available for the viewers to use on the main site. This includes polls, forums, houseguest profiles, and many more features! This will allow the viewers to interact with the game.
PART FIVE – APPLICATION PROCESS
Applications for BIG BROTHER MIAMI will be held over a month-long selection process. The time has been allotted for such a long period of time for a great cast to be selected. The application process consists of 3 steps:
· Submit an application
· Receive an email back within four days of submission letting the applicant know if they have made it to the second round
· The cast will be narrowed down to the perfect 6 men and 6 women for the first installment of the series
PART FIVE – DATES
Here are some important dates to remember for the application process in BIG BROTHER MIAMI.
· Applications open February 1st, 2006
· Applications close March 1st, 2006
· Cast will be contacted with more information such as the first meeting time/date, etc.
This brings an end to the BIG BROTHER MIAMI introduction package. Please take the time to consider applying to this groundbreaking ORG. Thank you for reading, and have an amazing day/night/morning!
