Alright, my suggestions.
#1. I think that this forum needs a website. Now. Use Tripod. Who cares if it's crap, something is better than nothing. This is supposed to be an index, not a socialite club. A simple list of whatever games will suffice for the time being.
#2: I think Matt should be fired.
He has continued to do a lame job as a moderator and act like a bitch, and I wouldn't be saying that if it weren't true. I don't think many people in the ORG community have respect for him and it has seemed like he doesn't have much respect for the ORG community, and we've learned that people without respect usually don't make great mods (a la me, Jason, Valerie...)
It also makes the board seem like one clique. I mean, hello, the mods make up 3/4 of the Core Four? If you aren't going to boot one of you out, you need more staff.
Frankly, I at first relunctantly applauded Matt for doing stuff, but honestly a lot of what he's been doing lately is just restricting the board more and more, and I don't think that's going to gain him more respect. The fact he banned Louise just for saying "Matt is a bitch and I'm not being sarcastic" shows how he is prone to overreact.
I hate to say it, but I actually believe somebody like Ty would make a better mod than Matt. At least Ty would have some decency towards other people, and not seem to act degrading toward them.
Maybe I'm being mean by saying all of this. Maybe I'm being unprofessional. But quite frankly, I've gotten really tired of having Matt as somebody on staff...and you need suggestions that are constructive...and I do think firing him will accomplish a lot.
So boot him. Replace him with Ty or something. And then maybe add Jamie to the staff? IDK, but somebody different, and something new.
That is all.
P.S. I understand why this post might cause some controversy...but regardless, I don't think it should be deleted, and I think it needs to be discussed. I find it sad that this is the only place to discuss this kind of thing, because it's really only worsening the state of the board. I also do believe the issues of a website and firing Matt both need to be discussed publically as they are restraining the community as a whole. I can see why you wouldn't like it, but the reality is people need to discuss these options and hear them out.

I actually agree with Devon for once...except the whole boot Matt.. I don't think Matt has done anything -wrong- to be booted.
He has potential to fuck up and over react like jasona and valerie...but I also have potential to be the fucking anti-christ...
It doesn't matter. I'm not saying that the core four has to split up and not lead this Community, but you need some diversity for sure.
BOTH V.E. and ARG are cliquey and you're turning into the god damn "Mini" people with all of the pretentious bullshit.
V.E. is fiona and her staff of only people she likes and is bff with. And it's the same way here.
YOU GUYS NEED A SITE. GET TO WORK DAMN. I'LL DO IT FOR YOU IF YOU WANT.
Also lol... you don't need to ban people for saying the "b-word" we're not in pre-school guys. Let's not turn into the original ORG board where bannings were fucking the most sporadic displays of retardation ever displayed on the internet.

First off i'd like to point you to the definition of the word index Index (noun): Something that serves to guide, point out, or otherwise facilitate reference, especially:
1. An alphabetized list of names, places, and subjects treated in a printed work, giving the page or pages on which each item is mentioned. 2. A thumb index. 3. A table, file, or catalog.Meaning technically since we have an advertising board we are an index. Because it refrences you out through the links. But an index is in the process of being made and set up so if you all just cool your heels and give us a little time you'll have a place to add your games. and i dont agree with your matt should be fired suggestion i think thats pretty harsh and an unneeded suggestion.

For the website issue, what we are trying to is just solve it in one fell swoop. Megs knows the program to start up the index and we already have found us a website designer, they are working together to get the site up. So, we are doing something, really, we have an advertising forum here, where most of the advertising actually happens, so it's not that bad to be waiting for a website.
I don't think that we need to go to the extreme to fire me for one mistake. I misjudged something, I apologised for it, and the staff has decided to make it so we need another staff member to confirm a warning or banning so it doesn't happen again. So problem solved.
I don't really understand any of your other points... seeing I am the one who is dealing with people moreso than the other mods, it's obvious some negative light is going to be cast on me since I deal with most of the conflicts. I don't know why me being on staff makes this cliquey, so what if me, Megs, and Tyler are friends? I don't understand how that affects the board whatsoever. I don't know what Tyler or Megs think about adding new people, as there are very few people I trust enough to staff with us and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't touch this with a 6-foot pole, I wouldn't want the hacking accident from VE to happen again. If a simple columnist could take down VE, I'm not going to wonder what someone else in a higher position can do here.
Thanks for being mature about this Devon, though, I do think me being removed from the staff is rather extreme, especially since I haven't continuously misused my abilities. I don't know who all thinks I'm not respectable, I'm sorry for that.

The only thing I disagree with your statement Devon is changing up the staff because it's purely the Core Four. This Core Four only appeared once in a game and it destroyed you, so get over it already would ya.
And Matt, you may handle all of the negative and controversial things, but the problem is that you handle ALL AND EVERYTHING that is even slightly negative. I think anybody would be living in a dream world if they thought they could make this place drama free.
Whether people want to admit it or not, they like a little drama to keep it interesting around here. It only crosses the line when the drama becomes full fledged personal attacks.

If that's the case, I'll be more hands off then. If I start hearing complaints about a certain topic or if someone is full out causing a problem, I will intervene, but other than that, do what you will then.

Another thought.
I don't think having a "suggestions thread" is a good idea, because honestly even if you guys check it regularly, nobody else will. If you guys REALLY cared about other people's input, you could just let us post our thoughts on the General Board, where everyone will notice them.
The thing is, when nobody else notices a suggestion, you don't get other people's feedback on it, and without other people's feedback, you won't truly know what other people think.
So, I would suggest either a) Moving the Suggestions Thread to the General Board or b) Letting us start up threads for suggestions as they come.
I mean, after all, you've pretty much killed all talking going on at ARG, might as well let us start up threads about specific criticisms and suggestions so we can have some activity on the forums again.

I don't know how WE killed talking here... This is a community, it's as active as you want it to be. And making a suggestions thread in the general forum to tear at the forum isn't exactly something a community should be about. If people care that much, they will look here, and post their comments.

Is it just me or is the community of posters always to blame for the inactivity of this place?

THE REASON WHY THIS PLACE DIED:
More popular board has rised again. Simple as that.
