Being Warned & Being Banned
It is the desire of the ARG Staff to never have to Warn or Ban a member from our Forum. However, this is the real world and we all know there are people out there who just like to cause problems. With that in mind we have created following system for Warning and Banning members.
What Is A Warning?
If you ever check your profile or see someone else's profile that has a 'Warning Meter' in it that looks like this:
This means that you have been warned or the persons profile you are looking at been warned.
The reason for the 'Warning' will be stated below the 'Meter', along with the length of the 'Warning'. The meter does a count-down and the warning percentage will lower with each day up to the end date of the warning.
What Can I Get A Warning For?
Every discipline case at ARG is different, so we can't really provide a concise list of what will result in a Warning or Ban from the ARG Forum. Needless to say: If you are following the Forums Rules (Found in the FAQ section of the Forum) along with all other policies put in place by ARG, you needn't worry about being warned or banned.
However, the following items could result in a 'Warning':
[1] Fighting in forums apart from the Fight Club. (This does not include debating topics in a respectful manner)
[2] Any action deemed by the staff to be inappropriate or disrespectful to members within the community or to the staff.
[3] Receiving a second warning before the first one has expired will result in a ban for the duration of the warning plus an additional week.
[4] Anyone receiving more than five warnings in a three month period will be banned for a three month period of time.
As I said the line between banning a member and warning a member will be decided case by case. If you wish to question a ban or warning you are invited to do so in a respectful manner by contacting a staff member in PM, IM, or via email.
What Is A Ban?
A ban is when we block someone's IP from gaining access to the forum. Bans can last for days, weeks, or years. This is up to the staff and will be decided in regards to the nature of the situation.
