You would think that stepping out of the gaming scene to some degree would protect me from the woes of the community, but it seems that someone is hell bent on driving me batty. I stopped airing Paranoia webisodes due to exhaustion, being burned out, and to allow myself time to focus on my writing. I was still somewhat social on the forums and such, and was allowing Megs and Matt to still use my server for hosting ARG.
Last night Megs called me to inform me that someone was on my ParanoiaMod screename taunting people because it was 2/17 -- which is a date of importance in Paranoia. At first everyone thought it was me and then it seems the person was just babbling on and on about nothing. Megs sent me the conversations in which this person invited a slew of people from my ParanoiaMod Buddylist and was answering questions about Paranoia --- to which no one knows the answers but me. This person referred to themselves as The Watcher.
What should be noted is that during my re-release of Paranoia 1 a person calling themselves The Watcher kept messaging and emailing me more or less bashing me and telling me that I should end Paranoia. I just brushed them off because I didn't want to spend time fighting with someone hiding behind an alias, even though in my mind I figured I knew who it was.
This person has also not only taken the liberty of hacking all my AIM accounts, my ARG account, my other forum accounts, and my email accounts apart from one which I rarely use and it has a different password. This person also logged onto my server tonight and deleted a folder which had my Paranoia stuff in it. However, this is all stuff that I have had multiple copies of and is on disk and on my hardrive so no worries there. However, they did not delete anything else on my server that I can see at the moment, but they added their own little index page to my server.
So now this is goodbye. I figure that it has to be someone from this forum just for the simple fact that they didn't delete the ARG image folder. I have now changed my server password and fixed it so that only my ip can login into it. I wish I could stay here and be social, but it seems that I am not wanted, and honestly I don't want to risk it.
