Have you ever pretended to be somebody you're not?
Have you ever changed genders, races, maybe even your age, out of pure amusement to "experience" a game in a different way?
Well, I know 25 people who have, and should be ashamed of their actions! Over the last few months, I have researched a list of the "Most Shocking and Controversial Aliases" in ORGs. Some of them you may have heard of. Others were lesser-known, but still a big deal for many players in the community. Regardless, they've all been deemed controversial in some way, and therefore have ended up on this list.
Some of these aliases were done in fun nature. Others were vicious, trying to actually hurt people, commit crimes, or even steal from other people. Whatever the case, nobody should be proud they made the list...unless, of course, your alias managed to expose the truth behind a really shitty ORG, like Special Operatives! Or perhaps it was just an all-out joke between friends that you all knew about.
Sure, not all of these aliases are "bad", but most of them didn't contribute much of anything! But we've ranked them, and we're now going to reveal the 25 we placed on our list.
I should mention some rules for the list:
1. The alias must have participated in at least 1 game that had some form of public accessibility, either episodes or an opened forum or a website with updates.
2. Each real person can only have 1 alias on the list. No more than that. Therefore, we've selected the one alias we believe was "their best".
3. It can only be an alias that was actually CONFIRMED, either publically or privately. Some of these were confirmed only in private, so you may be shocked to know the truth...
Sit down, profess your love to a member of the same sex, cut your age in half, kill a baby or two, and don't worry about your tribemates burning your bible! It's time to simmer down and rank these aliases! We are now going to start counting down the Top 25 Aliases of ORG...and trust us, if you are on this list, you should be ashamed of it.
The first entry will be posted shortly...

Time to start the countdown!
Here is number 25....
25. Talicia (Gerald) --Mini Games, Paradise Island 2 --Was cohost of Big Brother Monkeys: Reborn
Talicia gained her spot mostly for her acclaimed insanity in mini games. While almost everyone knew she was actually Gerald, Talicia still provided lots of entertainment. However, mild controversy also came from the words Talicia spoke, which were often crude and racist, calling white people crackers and black people niggers with no shame. She was also known for being quite a destructive force.
The alias never truly had a reveal, as Gerald was quite open over the fact that Talicia was actually him. Talicia also no longer is involved in ORGs, as she left with Gerald a few weeks into 2006. Her presence and memory, however, still remains.

Alright folks! It's time to reveal #24...I would like to first mention that it is one of the first few aliases that has NEVER been confirmed in public. That is, if you really consider him to be an alias in the first place...but I put him on this list anyways, because what he lied about was impressive enough.
Now, I decided to have CT Vanhoose himself help me out on this one.
I IM'd him, and decided to ask him about the alias in question.
Devon (5:37:59 PM): I have a question Devon (5:38:04 PM): and I want you to answer honestly Travis (5:38:06 PM): sure Travis (5:38:09 PM): lol Travis (5:38:10 PM): ok Devon (5:38:15 PM): what did you think of Robert...the one who played in Paranoia volume 1? Travis (5:38:29 PM): I have mixed opinions on Robert Devon (5:39:29 PM): well...when you first met him, what was your impression of him? Travis (5:40:07 PM): Well he hosted the first game I ever played (before I ever hosted) and I thought he was very mature, honest, and a very caring person. He seemed to have his shit together Devon (5:40:29 PM): was that Big Brother Departed? Travis (5:40:33 PM): yes Devon (5:40:45 PM): did you know that at that time...he was 14 years old? Travis (5:40:52 PM): lol Travis (5:40:53 PM): no Devon (5:41:03 PM): :-) Devon (5:41:09 PM): well, he is #24 on our list! Travis (5:41:17 PM): lmao Travis (5:41:22 PM): who is he really? Devon (5:41:28 PM): you don't know? Travis (5:41:33 PM): I have no idea lol Devon (5:41:39 PM): well...this may shock you... Travis (5:41:45 PM): heh heh Devon (5:41:51 PM): he actually is...
Travis (5:41:56 PM): dun de dun
Devon (5:41:57 PM): Robert Travis (5:42:00 PM): lol Travis (5:42:24 PM): So Robert was Robert just pretending to be an older Robert? lol Devon (5:42:30 PM): exactly ;-) Devon (5:42:48 PM): and I don't know about you...but he definitely had me fooled. Travis (5:42:57 PM): He had me fooled as well lol
24. Robert (Robert) --Many Games: Eden Falls, Survivor Cheju Do, Who is the Woman (f2), MI2 Mole 2 (f3) --Hosted Big Brother: Departed
Like I said, here is the first of a number of aliases that have never been revealed in public, and the first of two aliases on the list known as "age liars". Robert only lied about his age by 4 years or so -- he said he was 18 when he was 14. However, the reason he still makes the list is the shock factor. Robert began playing ORGs 3 years ago, and has since played many different games and gained a lot of attention. He was a "big name" ORGer, nearly always being accepted to games without question just because of his reputation as a player. He also claimed he was in college majoring in Journalism, as well as a few other smaller lies to suit his age.
I talked to Robert a while back when I got permission to include him on this alias list. According to him, he added the extra number of ages thinking it wouldn't be a big deal. He figured most people were doing it too, so he might as well. However, he didn't expect to get so wrapped up in ORGs, nor have his age become an issue. As he grew older and reached his 20's, he began to be placed on the older end of ORGers. (random fact: the average age is estimated to be 17). But he acted mature enough that people BELIEVED he was 21, rather than a 17 year old teenager.
Regardless, it MUST be noted why Robert added a few years onto his age: it was never to mislead or hurt anyone. Rather, he just considered it the "thing to do". Probably most people won't care that much, but he has expressed since letting me know the truth some regret over his actual age. I don't know if I should waste anymore time making a big deal out of it though, because it isn't a big deal, and he's just a cool guy anyways.
For pulling off his faked age throughout over 3 years and hundreds of games, he ranks at #24 on the list.

actually I would say it's the smart thing to do. People who are older have a little tougher time playing with a younger person. So I think he was smart in what he did. And obviously hasn't affected his playing abbility at all so go Robert.

It's time to reveal #23, and it is a fun one. After all...who doesn't love Simone's snarky comments, coming from a pretty Ecudorian face known as "Maria"? 23. Maria (Simone) --Big Brother UK, Special OperativesWhile her alias wasn't that shocking and about 60% of ORGers knew her real identity, Maria (like Talicia) earns her spot on the chart for the controversy factor! In the Fall and Winter of 2004, Simone decided to apply to a number of "low quality" games just to see how the hosts actually acted. She detailed her expose (without revealing her identity) in a livejournal set up. Here, she added a vast number of ORGers to her friends list, and slowly they came and read about the miserable game "Special Operatives", hosted by Warren. Soon after, she met "Nikkos" in the Big Brother UK, who became the antagonist in the novel of Maria's life. Quickly, it became clear Nikkos was rigging the game and eliminating people practically at random. There were a number of contestants claiming to be relatives, friends, or that they hadn't actually been cast in the game! However, nobody cared, and least of all Maria. She posted the stuff for entertainment and fun, and with Maria (or Simone)'s witty nature, she was able to give tons of that! Maria was also an active poster on the ORG index. There, both she and Simone posted, fighting with many and sometimes even ganging up on one innocent victim to argue with them. For those who knew Maria's real identity, it was hilarious. For those who didn't...well...hopefully they will now take it in good humor, knowing that it was just Simone! For her grand exposes and her ability to put a sarcastic twist on a terrible game, Maria ranks in at #23. EXTRA FUN: You can still read her snark-fest of exposees of both games here, at Maria's public livejournal: mariamila.livejournal.com/

Here's a late-night treat for all of those still up...
#22 on the list is an alias I know really well.
But that could be just because she was me!
22. Buffalo (Devon) --The Chichen Mole: Toliara
So, perhaps I am a bit biased to put myself on this list...but had somebody else been Buffalo and played more games as her, she could have easily cracked the Top 10.
Buffalo only played one game, "The Chichen Mole: Toliara", during which she would create lots of useless drama and havoc, simply for fun. Claiming to be an exotic dancer from Los Angelos, she insisted that sexual expression was an art and gloated in her lustful attitude. But the main trouble in the game came from other players. One look at her profile, and they knew she was an alias. So, they decided to harass her, leading to many fights and tensions.
The trouble was...Buffalo knew precisely who the Mole had been. This caused Buffalo to stick around for a while, until finally, the unthinkable happened: Buffalo quit at the game's final 6. But that wasn't all...Buffalo also claimed to one castmate who had berated her throughout the game that she had been raped on the job, and was now pregnant, and was quitting to try and "start a new life", since her husband was disowning her. Disgusted, the player told them that they knew they were an alias and that they'd just gone too far. Still, Buffalo claimed to be real, and left a passionate quitting speech, oddly paralleling the lyrics to Meredith Brooks' song "Bitch".
A few months after the game ended, Devon posted on ORG confirming he was Buffalo. There wasn't much controversy in the reveal, but there had been much controversy surrounding Buffalo's stay and exit from the Chichen Mole. Do I regret pretending to be an exotic dancer with sexual womanly problems? Not really, because it's not like there aren't people like that out there...and it was just for kicks. But I should have toned it down a lot, or should have quit being so chicken and just played as myself.
For all the trouble she caused, Buffalo gains a spot at #22.
