Devon, you suggestions of moderation... what is there to moderate? You say "do something." Do WHAT? What do you guys want us to do? Really, I would rather have people bugging me to do certain things than have no one suggesting. We are in the proccess of trying to get a website for the index, but we want to do it in one fell swoop. Megs is the one who knows this program for the indexing to work, and honestly, more people go to the forums than the website anyway, so it's not like it's the main reason ARG is suffering (though, i'm not dismissing the fact that a web page is needed). It's just I have been getting complaints about nothing going on, or no one liking that ARG is just a bitch fest in the Fight Club. I don't know what else to do, I don't spend all my time at ARG to know that everyone else who does is bored and what things they want. So, not just pointing out Devon, everyone needs to step up and get active if you want things to get better here.
And PS, VE's forum has been down?

I think so as well. To bad you guys couldn't talk to Fi and Simone about moving the Forumn in to replace thiers wich is still pretty dead and letting them do all the website work. Far as I see on here the forumn is great and you guys have that worked out right and Simone and Fi do great jobs on the other stuff so would be a good fit if you guys did go that way. Something to think about anyways. just so you know it clearly states on VE that Simone has officially retired from anything dealing with being on staff at VE. Fi is hiring her own staff and is fully trying to get VE up. and to everyone else, theres a place to complain its called the fight club- use it. You all wanted a relaxed enviroment, so we gave you that, thats why we are not going around like nazis locking posts. While there are mods, we do read whats said and things that are serious enough to need moderation are delt with. If you want ARG and any other index to grow, then you as a member of the forum need to be proactive, start a topic, make suggestions- we are very open to suggestions. Complaining at this point will just be an annoyance, which you can do but dont expect anyone to cater to your needs down the road. So be proactive

And just so everyone knows... if there indeed DOES need to be stronger moderation here, drop Megs, Tyler, or I an IM and if we get enough concerns, we will readjust. Thanks.

I don't think their words were directed at you wlutom. I think they were directed at complaints in general in regards to ARG.

Yes, not directed to you Tom And I forgot to mention this earlier, but Alan, I ment "competition" in a friendly way... having multiple indexes gives the ORG community more to do and a broader range of things as communities keep each other alive. Never meant it so much as ARG vs VE.

I thought I was being proactive by starting this thread...and I don't see why it has to go in fight club just because it's the smallest bit critical. I don't see your reasoning other than being bitter, and I'd like to see it moved back to general discussion where the topic can be addressed seriously...but if you don't want to take these matters seriously, then fine. Honestly, when moderators don't post or show some form of presence for a week when they are still there and still on AIM...that comes across as neglect to me. That's why I brought up the issue in this thread. It was not to piss anyone off, it was to bring up a reasonable point. I don't see why people have to get angry just because somebody speaks up. Perhaps its just a matter of my perception or w/e, but it really seemed like Matt was the only one around here anymore. And Matt...I can understand frustration, but I don't see any reason to get mad at me, or anyone who's posted in this thread. You asked for constructiveness, and when I gave serious suggestions of how to improve the forum and index, I'm yelled at. I'm sure me and a few others who've posted in the thread would appreciate an apology, but considering the egos around these parts, I don't think anyone expects one. That is all. I'll talk more about my "complaints" (I call them suggestions) in IM sometime, when I get around to it.

Plain and simply, this place is b-o-r-i-n-g. I'm sure I'm not the only one that only looks at the Fight Club (which is bad because I'm a mod lolz), which is sad. I am 100% against the whole Fight Club area because for the entire board to be active, people need to feel as if they CAN post anything everywhere; not just in the Fight Club. I know that I am 100% guilty for not helping around here, and do take blame for the lack of activity around here. I really can't speak for Megs and Matt (and I haven't before I posted this oop), but I feel we all could contribute a lot more. I would MUCH prefer to go to a non Fight Club board that is moderated with one set of rules for the entire board. We all know what crosses the line, so it should be simple to keep in order. Rule with an Iron Fist u kno. Something I lacked at ORG lolz. And Devon, you know you actually bring up a lot of good points. And you bring up CONSTRUCTIVE points too, which is something new for you . You are throwing in your typical Devon snide ass comments too, which are obnoxious as hell, but anyway. And really, don't h8 me Matt and Megs , but isn't the Fight Club a place for people TO complain and bitch and moan and say whatever the hell they want to? I mean seriously, I never understood why the whole VE-Jason thing was censored. This is supposed to be a place (the Fight Club) where anything goes. That whole thing turned me off completely and is when I stopped coming here on a regular basis. I think some of the rules need to be remade (and really made in the first place) and some areas of the board need to be reorganized. So really, I say DO complain about anything here. I'd rather have people speaking their mind and actually concerned about this place then sitting on their fingers and doing nothing. I mean let's be real. There was a stretch where there weren't more than 10 posts in a week. I know I'm personally not ever playing an ORG game again and will soon not have much time for any of this, so my days as moderator may be over here shortly. I'd like to stick around and make this place work, but we'll see I spose. I hate coming onto my real screen name tho because of people like Devon lmao jk... well not really... Anyway, I am prepared to be fired and live in a shanty in the jungles of South America after I press enter here, so ttyl ppl kthx.

First of, the thread title "Are we allowed to call this index dead yet?" seems more insulting than proactive. If you want to get a message across, please watch your choice of words.
Secondly, I moved this here because it's been unsettling how much negativity has been seeping from the Fight Club and how people have been posting stuff and (maybe unintentionally) starting fruitless arguements which lead to misunderstandings, when it's been posted around the forum to IM the staff if you have any concerns. And after posting in Welcome Thread about this being hell and other no so nice remarks about ARG... It's easy to see your remarks as just being rude.
But Tyler is right, we could do more around here, and I'd like to. The next time the ARG staff is all online we'll have a meeting about it and try to sort things out. But I still stand behind my view that people can't say "It's boring around here" and then don't say "Why not try this, this, or this?" Honestly, I'm turned off by it. I would love a more active forum and index, but the staff can't do it alone. But I think we should be revamping this place...
I think out little "experiment" with the Fight Club has failed. Really, there shouldn't be a place where people can just be down right nasty to one another. Everyone has really abused it, and while there were no rules broken, I just don't like comming to the forum where the main attraction is someone starting a hate thread about someone else.
I am pretty busy now comming back to college and starting my own game, but I have been trying to come to the board to post and get questions answered. But I will try, we will all try to pick this back up.
Also, if Alan or anyone else from the VE staff sees this, please contact me in IM, as I think that, as two growing staffs, we can help each other out and bounce our own ideas off of each other.
Expect changes.

I moved this back since we got rid of the Fight Club, and thought people would still like to comment on this.

Thanks. I would hope others have thoughts they would feel free to express...but for the moment, I think I've said enough.
