What does everyone think about Alito being confirmed as a US Supreme Justice? He was confirmed 58 votes to 42.

Anyways, about Alito...I do think when it comes to the appointment of justices, the president can do what they want. But I think it's sad that Bush didn't have the guts to appoint a swing voter, similar to Sandra Day O'Connor. People in politics today (both Dems and Reps) are so stuck on their own agendas, they're scared to do anything bold like that which might *gasp* allow for good judgement.

The fact that Alito is somebody Bush knows well worries me, too. Frankly, it seems like he's just appointing a bunch of pawns to the bench. Why else would anybody suggest somebody like Harriet Miers, and then Alito, anyways?

It sucks that Bush will be in power till 2008. He is probably the worst president the US has ever had. The fact that Bush is putting so many Republicans into the goverment is very bias. I think there are only 3 democrats on the Supreme Court as apposed to the even 4-4 and Sandra Day O'Connor being the usual swing vote. I really hope the next president is democrat.

See that Crossword puzzle? Imagine it being very big, and in the middle of of a big room. You'll have an hour to solve the puzzle. Every word you guess correctly puts ARG$50 in the group pot. If all 8 words are found, then another $100 will be put in.

Every player will be PM'd a clue to a word, and I'm giving you one clue right here. Ain't I nice? To actually put money in the pot, youll need to write over the picture above, putting the words in (in Paint or another program). At the end of 90 minutes, I expect the written over image in an attachment at [e-mail], or uploaded and posted here.
